- ~ 3 cups (360g) all purpose flour (only add more if needed) (for the dough)
- 3/4 tsp salt (for the dough)
- + 1/3 cup warm heavy cream to pour over the rolls right before baking (for the dough)
- 8-9 finely crushed oreos (for the filling)
- 6 tbsp (85g) unsalted butter, softened (for the filling)
- 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar, packed (for the filling)
- 1 tsp cinnamon (optional) (for the filling)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla (for the filling)
- + optional crushed freeze dried strawberries to sprinkle (for the filling)
- 6oz (170g) cream cheese, room temp (block style, not spreadable) (for the icing)
- 1/4 cup (57g) unsalted butter, room temp (for the icing)
- 1 1/4 cup (150g) powdered sugar (for the icing)
- 2-3 tbsp crushed freeze dried strawberries (for the icing)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla (for the icing)
- Topping: crushed oreos and/or fresh strawberries (for the icing)
Instructions
- A flavor combo that deserves more hype (and it's perfect for valentines!)
- Combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5-10 min until foamy.
- Add eggs and melted butter, mix.
- Stir in salt and flour. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 8-10 min.
- Place in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1-1 1/2 hrs or until doubled.
- For the filling, mix the soft butter, brown sugar, crushed oreos, vanilla, and cinnamon until combined/spreadable.
- Roll dough into a large rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
- Spread the filling evenly all over and sprinkle crushed freeze dried strawberries on top.
- I like to use a pizza cutter or knife to first slice 8 pieces then roll them each up tightly.
- (Or you can tightly roll the whole thing then slice)
- Place in greased 9x13 pan.
- Cover and let rise 30-45 more min.
- Pour warm heavy cream over the rolls right before baking.
- Bake at 350°F for 22-28 min until golden.
- To make the icing, beat cream cheese and butter together until smooth.
- Then, beat in powdered sugar, crushed freeze dried strawberries, and vanilla until fully combined. Add 1 tsp milk if you want it thinner.
- Spread over the warm rolls.
- Top with crushed oreos and/or fresh strawberries.
