Instructions
- The upside down meets christmas baking with these gooey red velvet oreo cinnamon rolls!
- Combine warm milk, sugar, & yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Add egg, egg yolk, melted butter, vinegar, vanilla, & red food coloring, mix.
- Stir in salt, cocoa powder, & flour.
- Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 8-10 minutes.
- Place in greased bowl, cover, & let rise for 1-1 1/2 hours or until doubled.
- For the filling, mix the soft butter, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, & crushed oreos until fully combined and spreadable.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
- Spread the filling evenly & scatter chopped oreos all over it.
- I like to use a pizza cutter to first slice 12 pieces then roll them each up tightly. (Or you can tightly roll the whole thing then slice)
- Place in greased 9x13 pan.
- Cover & let rise for about 45 more minutes.
- Pour warm heavy cream over the rolls right before baking.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 22-28 min.
- To make the icing, beat cream cheese & butter together until smooth. Beat in powdered sugar & vanilla.
- Let the rolls cool slightly then add a dollop of icing on top of each. Add store-bought black icing to a piping bag and draw the vines. Lightly sprinkle with crushed oreos (preferably the red ones)
