Brown butter cinnamon chocolate chip cookies
Browned butter, a spoonful of yogurt and warm cinnamon give these chocolate chip cookies bakery depth with soft, chewy middles.

Ingredients
- 115 g unsalted butter, melted and browned (1/2 cup)
- 2 tbsp Greek yogurt (or mashed banana)
- 150 g light brown sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 190 g all-purpose flour (1 1/2 cups)
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 130 g chocolate chips (2/3 cup)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a tray with parchment.
- Brown the butter until almost brown and nutty.
- Mix the butter with the brown sugar, yogurt, egg yolk and vanilla.
- Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cinnamon, mixing gently until combined, then the chocolate chips.
- Form 50–55 g balls; if the dough is soft, chill 30 minutes.
- Bake 10–12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden, and rest 10 minutes on the tray.
