Ingredients
- 1/4 cup (56g) melted unsalted butter (for the cookie dough)
- 1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar, packed (for the cookie dough)
- 2 tbsp (25g) granulated sugar (for the cookie dough)
- 1 egg yolk, room temp (for the cookie dough)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for the cookie dough)
- 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp (75g) all-purpose flour (for the cookie dough)
- 1 tsp cornstarch (for the cookie dough)
- 1/4 tsp baking soda (for the cookie dough)
- 1/8 tsp salt (for the cookie dough)
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips (for the cookie dough)
- 1-2 christmas oreos, broken into pieces (for the topping)
- christmas sprinkles and/or mini m&m's (for the topping)
- + vanilla ice cream & chocolate syrup after baking (for the topping)
Instructions
- This festive skillet cookie is soft, gooey, and sooo easy to make!
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175 °C) and lightly grease a 6” cast iron skillet (i recommend using butter to grease it).
- To make the cookie dough, mix melted butter (slightly cooled) with both sugars until smooth.
- Stir in egg yolk and vanilla until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet until just combined.
- Gently fold in chocolate chips.
- Press dough evenly into skillet and top with oreo pieces, christmas sprinkles, and mini m&m's.
- Bake 13-17 minutes until edges are golden and center looks set (should be soft but not jiggly or raw).
- Let rest just 5-10 minutes before adding vanilla ice cream and toppings so it stays gooey.
- (careful, the skillet is hot!)
