  • 1/4 cup (56g) melted unsalted butter (for the cookie dough)
  • 1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar, packed (for the cookie dough)
  • 2 tbsp (25g) granulated sugar (for the cookie dough)
  • 1 egg yolk, room temp (for the cookie dough)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for the cookie dough)
  • 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp (75g) all-purpose flour (for the cookie dough)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (for the cookie dough)
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda (for the cookie dough)
  • 1/8 tsp salt (for the cookie dough)
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips (for the cookie dough)
  • 1-2 christmas oreos, broken into pieces (for the topping)
  • christmas sprinkles and/or mini m&m's (for the topping)
  • + vanilla ice cream & chocolate syrup after baking (for the topping)

Instructions

  1. This festive skillet cookie is soft, gooey, and sooo easy to make!
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175 °C) and lightly grease a 6” cast iron skillet (i recommend using butter to grease it).
  3. To make the cookie dough, mix melted butter (slightly cooled) with both sugars until smooth.
  4. Stir in egg yolk and vanilla until smooth.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet until just combined.
  7. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
  8. Press dough evenly into skillet and top with oreo pieces, christmas sprinkles, and mini m&m's.
  9. Bake 13-17 minutes until edges are golden and center looks set (should be soft but not jiggly or raw).
  10. Let rest just 5-10 minutes before adding vanilla ice cream and toppings so it stays gooey.
  11. (careful, the skillet is hot!)
