Ingredients
- 3/4 cup salted butter, browned (170 g)
- 2/3 cup dark brown sugar (135 g)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50 g)
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla paste
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (240 g)
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt mini chocolate chips ( measure with your heart ) instructions brown the butter and
- 1 tbsp milk, keeping in mind this will slightly soften the final texture
- 1 inch thick
- 1 inch wide
Instructions
- Let it cool just until warm, not hot
- Add the warm brown butter to a bowl with the brown sugar and granulated sugar and mix until combined
- Add the egg and vanilla paste and mix again until fully incorporated
- Add the flour, baking soda, and salt and fold just until combined
- The dough will be thick and slightly stiff, which helps the cookie fries hold their shape
- If the dough feels too difficult to work with, you can add up to
- ( i used my hands to help “knead” the dough ) fold in the mini chocolate chips
- Place the dough onto a sheet of parchment paper, top with another sheet of parchment, and roll into a rectangle about 3/4–
- Remove the top parchment and trim the edges to square it off
- Cut the rectangle in half lengthwise, then slice into fry-shaped strips about 1/2–
- Transfer the pieces to a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing slightly apart
- Bake at 350°f (175°c) for about 8–10 minutes, just until set and lightly golden
- While the cookie fries are still warm, gently press and shape the edges with a spatula to give them a more fry-like look
- Let cool completely before serving
