Ingredients

  • 110 g melted butter (1/2 cup)
  • 100 g granulated white sugar (1/2 cup)
  • 65 g light brown sugar (1/3 cup)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 150 g all-purpose flour (11/4 cups)
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 100g dark chocolate chips (1/2 cup)
  • 50g milk chocolate chips (1/4 cup)

Instructions

  1. Whisk melted butter and sugars until it looks like wet sand.
  2. Sift in flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold until almost combined, then fold in chocolate.
  3. Scoop dough (9–11pcs) and chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  4. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Roll dough balls and place on lined tray, 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake 9–12 mins until edges are set (underbake for chewy cookies).
  6. Cool on tray 5–10 mins, then transfer to rack to cool completely
Tip: Chilling the dough deepens the flavour and stops the spread — worth the wait.
