Ingredients
- 1/2 cup salted butter
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar (150 g)
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar (55 g)
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 11/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 11/4 cups mashed banana, about
- 2 medium bananas (300 g)
- 1/4 cup sour cream or full-fat greek yogurt (60 g)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (240 g)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips (135 g) instructions preheat the oven to 400°f

- In a large bowl, mash the bananas then whisk in the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and glossy
- Whisk in the eggs one at a time until fully emulsified, then mix in the vanilla
- Fold in the sour cream until just combined
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt
- Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet just until no dry pockets remain
- Fold in the chocolate chips last
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan
- Add choc chips and place the loaf in the oven and bake at 400°f for 8 minutes, then without opening the oven door, reduce the temperature to 325°f and continue baking for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the banana bread portion comes out with moist crumbs but no wet batter
- Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 20 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely before slicing
